Tuesday July 29, 2025 2:00pm - 2:50pm CDT
Ever wonder why some students have such a hard time at school? This session will take you on a journey to gain more understanding of why Autistic and other neurodivergent students have such a difficult time at school. We will focus on how, with some small tweaking, we can immediately create a classroom environment that helps improve regulation and classroom performance that benefits all students. We will discuss the latest descriptors of Autism, hear from autistic students, and go through 5 highly relevant topics including Basic Needs, Sensory Overload, Routines, Executive Function, and Misunderstandings. You will leave this session with many relevant and easy to implement strategies that can be incorporated into your teaching style and classroom management.
